When words fall short, images speak. Sand tray therapy opens the door to the unconscious and gives the right brain a voice—but it's not exactly portable.
Image-rich cards like archetype, oracle, and tarot decks offer a powerful, accessible alternative in therapy with older children, teens & adults.
In this experiential (non-spiritual) workshop, we’ll explore creative ways to use card-based imagery to help clients express what’s hard to say.
Come learn practical Jungian based techniques for integrating these tools into trauma-informed therapy and leave with fresh insight, new ideas, and a deep meaningful experience.
Suitable for Play Therapists, trauma informed therapists and creative therapists who are curious enough to explore new things.
What to Bring & What We Will Do
Purchase a deck or two (or more) and bring them to class (virtual or in person). You will be given multiple prompts throughout the training, so come prepared!
To the right are examples of decks you can purchase, but really, any deck you are drawn to will do, as long as when you look at the imagery on the cards, it has the feeling we are looking for.
Resiliency and self care related imagery will have a completely different feel than shadow work and trauma healing. Some imagery is light hearted and other imagery is bit darker/heavier in it's feel.
